The Proper Timing for After- School Programs

Many parents start wondering if their child is too young to start getting involved in extra-curricular activities; and questions such as this ones start rising up: Is he ready? Am I ready to let him go? Should I go along?

There is a wide variety of comprehensive after- school programs for all kind of kids in the area of New York. Whether your preferences are sports or languages, there are all sort of services available for the community. Many psychologists have agreed that once the kid turns 3 years old, he is in a proper age to start performing different activities with other kids. Besides the discipline it builds in them, it is also a way to socialize. The most popular programs are Pre-K and Head Start programs. There are a few of these programs that are government funded and other ones that are private.

Many after school care programs offer activities and services that might be useful or enjoyable for your child. There are many kids’ activities like karate, swimming, ballet or dance classes to choose from. Often, these programs provide transportation options to help parents with their busy schedule.

Enrolling your kids in extra-curricular activities provides an advantage, not only for the toddler but also to the parent. Your toddler starts connecting with other people and even make friends. Even though we might think is still too soon, he will start learning the importance of social niceties and manners: “Thank- you”, “Please”, “Hello”, and “Bye”. Parents get to enjoy the process of socialization with them and also they become part of it by their involvement on such programs. Parties, voluntary participations and contributions on trips or sports.

I trully believe it is a well worth added expense.

Tot's Mania Description

Hello and welcome to Tots- Mania. I’m a stay- home mom and a business student in New York City. I have a 4 year old girl who is currently attending Pre-K and I’m also expecting my second child. The purpose of this blog is to find a way to exchange ideas and opinions regarding activities, products or services, emotions, behaviors and reactions to different matters affecting toddlers and parents as well. Toddlers are very challenging to understand. Sometimes not even the best-sellers books can help us cope with different situations surrounding our tots’ minds. I want this blog to be able to display all those crazy scenarios and also special moments that parents face during their every-day life. Most of the time, I find great solutions inspired on blogs made by parents who are facing the same kind of issues as I am. It could be a different art craft or games to spend some quality time with my kids, or perhaps some suggestions or concerns regarding symptoms or medicines in the market or, maybe just places to visit and products that are affordable and a great idea to try out.

Hope to hear what you have to share!!!!
